About Me

I am a product person. I enjoy all phases of the product development cycle, from ideation to release. I like seeing the pieces come together:  the users’ needs, the business objective, the designs, and their translation into technology.

My “superpowers” are in generating possible product solutions, and working with the teams to determine and implement the best value propositions.

I am fascinated by emerging technologies and keep track of design trends.

In my spare time, I practice martial arts. I am a 5th dan in Taekwondo. In my family, we are all black belts.

I love walking in nature, exploring new art trends, drinking coffee, and sampling chocolate. I consume sci-fi and popular science.

I love my family and close friends more than any words or photos can express.
Here are some other things that I love...

Martial Arts

“The martial arts way is a holistic approach to learning and practicing martial arts that are based on respect, discipline, and constant self-improvement.  It encourages the development of character and personal growth.” – open.ai

“The martial arts aren’t a form of recreation; they’re a way of life.” –Lisa King,  “The Black Widow”

My Martial Arts Journey

I am a martial artist. I have been practicing taekwondo for almost 20 years, and am a 5th Dan, Master.  It is an amazing journey. I like to think of the “Blackbelt way”, as my “code”, the path I follow.

Through my journey in martial arts, I have learned so much about respect, growth, friendship, and myself; I have gained knowledge in fascinating domains such as self-defense and street fight strategy;  I learned to accomplish things that I never imagined I could i.e. break four solid bricks with my elbow.

Perhaps most important, I have witnessed how attitude and focus can determine the outcome of actions, and have seen how with the right attitude and focus young (and old) students grow into competence, to become an inspiration for others.

"Makes Me Think" Art

“The bottom line (or box) for thinking outside the box is really about looking further than the obvious.” – Christina Rosepapa

What it Means to Me

“Make me think art” is a form of conceptual art that encourages me, the audience, to reflect on the meaning behind and beyond the work. I love this art trend because, at its best, its ideas and materials are fresh and unexpected. It “makes me think”.

The trend is characterized by the use of abstract elements, interactive elements, and non-traditional materials. It often comes in the form of installations, interactive sculptures, and performance art.

I enjoy this art media because it doesn’t instruct me “what to do” or “how to think”, instead it engages (often provokes : ) my senses and mind and invites me to interact and “figure things out”.

Street Art

Street Art is a visual art trend created in urban public spaces on walls or other surfaces. It is often used to create a statement about political, social, and/or cultural issues. At its best, the urban landscape becomes part of the materials and textures of the work – creating a unique urban expression.

Why I love Street Art

As in all styles of art, there is “great” and “not so great” street art. Perhaps a big difference is with street art it is all out there; it is accessible to everyone to assess and make up their minds.

At its best, it is captivating, vibrant, and interactive.

It can stop me in my tracks and evoke strong emotions. I love the originality and intensity of the works and the creative way in which the artists use the city canvas and textures. Street Art covers an extreme variety of techniques, allowing new approaches that go well beyond traditional.

In addition to the visual freshness and creativity, I am intrigued by the idea of “Street Art”. It is not “owned” and is often transient (painted over). I experience it as an outpour of the city’s creative energy. It is displayed for all to see in an “open sky theater” on an ever-changing cityscape.

Bar's Bees

Domesticated honeybees are critical to our ecosystem. Our food security and the biodiversity of our world depend on their pollination work. Beyond this, honey bees are a fascinating example of a social organization, with complex communication and behaviors. (World Wide Web”)

My Life with Honey (Bees)

My husband is a “Bee Whisperer”. He is a master at extracting bees from residential spaces (attics, porches, pillars rooftops) and finding them new homes where they can live happily (safe from extermination).

As a result, our life is delightfully full of bees: our backyard buzzing with hives, our garden blossoming, and our jars are full of honey.

I have become so accustomed to the buzzing and humming of bees that I cannot imagine my daily life without them.

West Coast Redwoods

The redwoods of the northern California coast are some of the tallest and oldest trees in the world. They can grow over 300 feet tall. The beauty of the redwoods lies in their grandeur and their sense of timelessness. At the same time, walking in the forest, one is captivated by the intense and vibrant life within it. (Chat GPT)

Dendrophile?

When I landed here, in northern California, I immediately “fell in love” with the redwoods of the northern California coast.  It wasn’t “love at first sight”, because it felt that they were always here – waiting for me to arrive and behold them. A unique experience; a different kind of love? This love is truly in the eyes of the beholder.

American River Parkway

The American River Parkway is a 23-mile-long urban parkway that extends along both sides of the American River in Sacramento, California. The Parkway is a heavily-wooded area with wildlife and breathtaking views. It is a natural oasis in the heart of Sacramento. The parkway is considered one of the most successful urban parks in the United States.

By the River

I live less than a 4 min drive from access to the American River and its parkway. I cannot see the river from the window of my suburban home, yet at a whim, I am there, and its incredible beauty opens my mind and heart. For years now, weather permitting, I try to spend time walking and jogging its paths. No path is ever the same, always changing, renewing, and re-charging. These gifts, however, are not the only reason I’ve included the American River Parkway in my “loves list”.  For a designer and “architect” it is always a delight to see a vision come to life – the Parkway is alive; it is a very popular recreation destination for the residents of Sacramento, it is a thriving wildlife habitat and it has even been credited with helping to reduce crime in the area. As a product architect and product designer, I cannot help being deeply impressed by the scope and success of this great initiative. I admire the vision behind it, and cannot begin to imagine the complexity involved in making a project of this scale happen: funding, environmental concerns, community consensus, landscape design, and public safety (to mention a few). My thanks to “SARA” (Save the American River Association) for keeping the parkway on its path.
